1.3.1 FucShway

An interesting thing has been happening since deciding to start 'bloggin' again. Especially with terms: Try to every day. Before 're-startin' I had a bunch of ideas for blogs and would end up writing them in my head. Now that I'm ready and willing to write - where'd they go?

Note to self - keep notes for yourself. All it would have taken to have plenty of things to write about would be to have written a list of possible topics. Then I could pick and choose. But like so many other good ideas - they like to hide when you  need them.

I was also thinking about the importance of said posts. Do they have to have some kind of significance to post them? Can't they just be a type of 'shower thought' or maybe there isn't anything wrong with being benign and relatively meaningless or dare to be boring? It's almost like posting something boring takes more bravery than posting something bold or declarative. Food for thought.

There is definitely one post…

1.2.1 - Shone

The shining is one of those movies that the people who only see it once won't appreciate. If you go into hearing that 'it's scary' you'll be disappointed. It's not your typical horror movie. It's not your typical - movie movie. It's just weird in a way that is hard to put your finger on. It's a movie with a lot of layers.

It's an example of a weird type of paranoia- questioning- is there a hidden meaning or isn't there? Are you just reading too much into it and seeing things or was it intentional? This is also a great example in that it definitely has some hidden meanings but also brings some vagueness since the director is dead and can't verify if they are his intention or coincidence or just accidental.

The idea that he filmed the hallways and blueprints of the hotel being 'impossible' is definitely true. It invokes a type of sub-conscious confusion in that we realize there is something 'wrong' with the orientation but…

1.1.1 - Coops

"I have been impressed with the urgency of doing. Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Being willing is not enough; we must do." - Leonardo da Vinci

I've had Danny Cooper my English Budgie for almost 2 years now. We got Dylan on her first birthday (He just turned 1) and then got three parakeets soon after - all in an attempt to have babies with the assumption being that the more you have the more likely at least two of them will be the right sexes and hook up. Hasn't exactly worked out that way so we'll have to wait and see.
Danny and Dylan used to have a little area they would hang out in and didn't move around much or fly. Then I got the parakeets and things got loud, and lets just say they are a lot more active. They could fly but Danny and Dylan couldn't - so I would have to put them back up every time they flew down. The little Grey one Luca, chases the other ones around and pushes them off. She wants to be #1.

One of my 'hobbies' I guess …

1.0.1 - Intro-spection

About a week ago I started keeping daily 'journals' again. I don't know if they are technically "journals' Because they are more about the details about what I am working on rather than my personal life. I haven't kept those kinda life like journals except for sporadic cobblestones from time to time.  I guess I didn't think I had anything too interesting going on to write about, personally, or my day to day life. Which was a good things and enabled me to recover from a time when I had plenty to write about.

While my day to day life isn't all that interesting, staring into a few different screens for hours on end the contents of those screens are evolving to something to keep track of, at least to me, and it's my blog, so ugh here we go!

I figure I need to start writing things that I know will be read since that has been a major issue I've had in finishing my book. Did you know that if you want to be a writer or an author that one of the things…

Nothing's real until you let go completely.

With blogger you are able to control which posts are private (saved as drafts) and which you actually post.  About two year ago I went through this blog and took off anything that wasn't "Vinci-related" which was more than half the contents. I've also used this blog as a quazi-journal, slash place to post lyrics and other things that even If I didn't post publicly I kept as drafts to remember something.

Since i'm winding down/ up towards publishing my book - which almost means publishing all the stuff that didn't get included, which out numbers it 1000 fold - I figured this would be a good place to start.

This blog was following along with the writing process and the trials and tribulations I was going through at the time - which ironically were exactly what I would NOT post. But since I finally feel that I can look at those as being 'past' rather than something that is still apart of me - it's more interesting than embarrassing. I feel a lit…

Kelly Clarkson - Sober

And I don't know This could break my heart or save me Nothing's real Until you let go completely So here I go with all my thoughts I've been saving So here I go with all my fears weighing on me
Three months and I'm still sober Picked all my weeds but kept the flowers But I know it's never really over
And I don't know I could crash and burn but maybe At the end of this road I might catch a glimpse of me So I won't worry about my timing, I want to get it right No comparing, second guessing, no not this time
Three months and I'm still breathing Been a long road since those hands I left my tears in but I know It's never really over, no
Wake up
Three months and I'm still standing here Three months and I'm getting better yeah Three months and I still am
Three months and it's still harder now Three months I've been living here without you now Three months yeah, three months
Three months and I'm still breathing Three months and I still remember …

Discovering da Vinci

This blog post will be used to showcase the latest updates from all our sites. New Introductory text:

"Ciao, benvenuto al mio sito!

The aim of Discovering Da Vinci is to become the destination for everything about and by Leonardo da Vinci. It's going to compile all of his notebooks, sketches, paintings, and other written works in one place that is easily accessible to everyone. It will eventually bring all the varied subjects covered in his notebooks up-to-date with new content and modern technologies.

"Discovering da Vinci" started as an evolution of my book "Discovering Da Vinci's Daughter" that I have been working on for almost 8 years now. Over that time I incidentally accumulated a lot of images, pieces of information, quotes, books, etc about Leonardo and the associated subjects. This site slowly melded away from a place mainly to post what I was working on for my book …
