Cloud Atlas Quotes

Dr. Henry Goose: “Belief, like fear or love, is a force to be understood as we understand the theory of relativity and principals of uncertainty. Phenomena that determine the course of our lives. Yesterday, my life was headed in one direction. Today, it is headed in another. Yesterday, I believe I would never have done what I did today. These forces that often remake time and space, that can shape and alter who we imagine ourselves to be, begin long before we are born and continue after we perish. Our lives and our choices, like quantum trajectories, are understood moment to moment. That each point of intersection, each encounter, suggest a new potential direction.

Sonmi-451: "To be is to be perceived. And so to know thyself is only possible through the eyes of the other. The nature of our immortal lives is in the consequences of our words and deeds, that go on and are pushing themselves throughout all time. Our lives are not our own, from womb to tomb, we're bound to others, …

Karma is False!

If you haven't been following my blog and realized I am a vegan, animal lover, and I go so far as to save the spiders in my shower.

I even save the cockroaches in that sometimes crawl around the kitchen from my Mom (Serial killer)

You would think that I have earened some "Karma points"  for saving so many bugs- right?

Apparently not1

Im sitting outsidd in my back yard right now and I already have two spider bites on each of my feets.

You would think -as I have thought - that I would do something about these spiders biting me. Obviously! But what you don't undertand is that they only bite me on occassion. I've sat in my back yard every single dayt for the last 4 years!

Now if these fucking spiders were to bite me every day - I would do something about it. But no. In the last four years I have only been bitten about -6 nights.

Ellen and Portia's daughter

Here is a little story about how I printed a custom-copy of my book for Ellen De-Generes

About a year ago my my Mom went to Ellen's birthday's special episode. She got a Samsung TV!
Thanks Ellen!

Another gift from Ellen's birthday special was to give everyone in the audience a ticket to one of her "12 days of Christmas Show"

Fast Forward>> My Mom gets the info about the Christmas show she is going to. I'm like: Wow! she is going to be a few feet away from Ellen!

There is a table to leave gifts/ fan mail/ whatever to Ellen herself!  I have to use this miraculous opportunity to give Ellen a copy of my book! right?

So once we got the dates that my Mom would be on Ellen's show, I started making an "Ellen" Version of my book, so she could leave it on the table that Ellen would supposedly see!

What I did was make a version of my book with a custom cover that I thought would get her attention. I found a picture of Ellen and I found a picture …

World War Z: 94/100

World War Z is the most sophisticated Zombie movie I've seen. It's also the least gory. While the lack of blood and close ups of bodies being dismembered (and eaten) may be a turn off for hardcore zombie fans - it by no means took away from the suspense. This movie was much more of a Thriller than a Horror movie but kept me on the edge of my seat for the ENTIRE film. It took away the cliche's and redundant fun that the genre usually exploits and turned it into something more serious and realistic. Reminding me more of Contagion than Night of the Living X.

World War Z follows Brad Pitt who is a United Nation field agent as he tries to find where the source of the infection originated. Traveling from Asia, to Israel and eventually Russia. Along the way he notices certain aspects of the "un-dead" that help him unravel the mystery. He first notices that they turn in about 12 seconds after being bitten and that a bite is the only thing that seems to transmit the dise…

Baltic Sea Anomaly

On June 19, 2011 the "Ocean X Team" found what has been called "The Baltic Sea Anomaly." It became popular due to the sonar image of the structure looking like an air craft. Since then more tests have been done and it's been determined to be made of natural materials.

It's definitely there but the debate is if it's a man-made structure or not. If it is then it would pre-date the last ice age and that wouldn't fit into the current consensus about civilization's history.

"The object had an egg-shaped hole leading into it from the top, as an opening. On top of the object they also found strange stone circle formations, almost looking like small fireplaces. The stones were covered in something resembling soot,"

"It has these very strange stair formations, and if it's constructed, it must [have been] constructed tens of thousands of years ago before the Ice Age." -Lindberg

Blackfish - The Movie about killer killer Whales

Great, now I'm not going to be able to go to sea world anymore!

Ashes to Ashes, dust to Space

Celestis is a company that will blast yo' ashes into space! That's one way to get into "heaven." This may sound like science fiction or something people would do in the future - but there are actually people already ascended. There is even someone buried on the moon.

While it seems like a unique thing to do with your ashes it seems like it would be a lot more interesting to send your whole body, frozen maybe? Or at least a sample of your dna instead. Why not even throw in a record/ biography of your life? Eventually something or someone might find you... In thousands or millions of years people (or whoever) are going to be digging up graves and wondering who you were. I would rather go up than down anyways!

Their next launch/ service is going to be June 21, 2013... oh wait that's like in two days. Better wait for the next one!

If only it were as easy in real life as it is in photoshop.

It's not about the nail!

I've hand this conversation way too many times. Sometime with myself.

Have you heard of Deja Vu? Have you heard of Deja Vu?

Top 10 strangest phenomena of the mindSource 1. Deja vu Deja vu is an experience of having seen or experienced a new situation previously. It feels like if the event has already happened before. The experience is usually accompanied by a strong sense of familiarity and a sense of paradox or bizarre. The “previous” experience is usually attributed to a dream, but sometimes there is a constant feeling that it really has happened in the past. 2. Deja Vecu Deja vecu is what most people experience when they think they are having a deja vu. Deja vu is when one has a feeling that he has seen something before, whereas deja vecu is an experience of having seen an event before, but with great detail as to recognize the smells and sounds. This also is usually accompanied by a very strong sense of knowledge about what will happen next. 3. Deja senti Deja senti is a phenomenon of having already felt something. The phrase “I have felt it before” perfectly captures deja senti. It is only a mental p…

Pelican Plenoptic Camera

Hello my name is Derek and I would like to place this camera in my cell phone, immediately.
Basically what this technology does is uses multiple mini-camera sensors instead of using only one. So each sensor is picking up different information of the scene. This idea is what enables us to see things in 3d (Binocular rivalry) - our brain senses the differences between what each of our eyes are seeing. This new camera system does something similar but instead of two "eyes" it has 16! This means it's able to focus on multiple locations and distances at the same time and record them - and then the software can de-code this information and you can control what is in focus. Imagine being able to take a picture of someone in front of a group of other people and objects. Normally a camera will only be able to focus on a certain area/ distance in front of it. With this type of technology you could take a single picture and everything would be in focus as if you took 16 pictures …

Why I ordered 200 praying mantises?

So I just ordered 50-200 praying mantises from - they were only 15$! plus about 5 $ for shipping and what must be a very interesting handling. Why? that's a good question! (Wait for it) How? That's the question I'm most interested in, well, since I already know why.
Well, I am the bug whisperer and while it may seem that I would want an platoon of praying mantises as pets - it's actually for a far more productive reason. I should preface this, or pre-story it with what gave me this bug-tastic idea in the first place: One word: Reddit
I am now officially not just obsessed but addicted to the web site/ app - reddit. What is reddit? I didn't know. I had heard of it and knew it was one of the top 'social media' web sites around but I never really visited it for more than 5 seconds. Well, a few days ago I set about trying to figure out what it was all about. What is it all about? It's all about being all about everything. It's tag line …

Man of Steal!

First off I should say that I've never really been a 'fan' of superman. Didn't read the comics and although I do love me some super-hero's I never got into this particular super hero. The classic super man movies, although enjoyable, made him seem wimpy and kind of weak. Like a Boy Scout with super powers with a dorky alter-ego. The last super man movie was okay but a little tame.

Man of Steel - is a completely different story. I just got back from seeing it and it is now my new favorite super-hero movie, by a fairly large margin. The director Zack Snyder is a visual genius and is probably the only director capable of making a movie, at least in a long time, that makes me watch it with my mouth open - drooling, and in awe.

I've wanted to be a director and the types of movies that I have always been most interested in are heavy cgi-artsy-visual-wizardry-types. His movie 300 was the first time I saw a movie that had the type of aesthetics I had always envisione…

Donnie Darko Inspired

Last night I came across a review of the movie Donnie Darko. Actually it was more of an analysis.  I have seen Donnie Darko over 5 times and it's one of my favorite movies. It's one of those movies that is very cerebral and makes you think but I never really re-searched what it was 'really about." So last night I stayed up until 7AM not just reading countless articles and reviews about it but watching the movie twice in a row. The second time with the director's commentary. I'll save my own thoughts on the movie for another time but during my research I came across something titled:
"88 Reasons to watch Donnie Darko Again"

I thought it was interesting and decided to check out the rest of the site. It seemed to be someone's personal site to display his writings and web design skills. I read through a few of the articles and came across one that really resonated with me and I thought I would share it. It's not really abnormal to randomly come …
