Discovering Da Vinci Daily: Day 24: The Sorest Misfortune

"The sorest misfortune is when your views are in advance of your work.
Somo dano e quado l’openione avanza l’opera. "

Leonardo's 'views' were hundreds of years premature. Many of his inventions and ideas would not have been possible during his life time. Those that might have would have taken so much work to complete that he wouldn't have been able to get to his next idea. This seems to have caused da Vinci a lot of 'misfortune' - to live his life imagining such amazing things but never being able to have them manifested in reality.
